Meet Your Menopause Hair Partner in Kansas City

I'm a Board Certified Trichologist, Certified Menopause Coach, and lifelong cosmetologist who believes your hair story deserves more than "It's just aging."

For more than 30 years, I've been behind the chair listening to women tell me about their lives, their families, their big changes—and more and more, their fear around hair loss and scalp changes.

What started as "Can you make this look better?" turned into "I'm scared. Is this normal?"

This page is the "why" behind what I do, and why my studio looks a little different from a traditional salon.

From Traditional Stylist to Trichologist & Menopause Coach

I didn't start my career thinking I'd be talking about hormones, stress, and shedding hair on a daily basis. I started like most stylists do—cutting, coloring, styling, and making sure my clients walked out feeling beautiful.

Over time, I noticed a pattern:

  • More women quietly mentioning increased shedding

  • More "My part looks wider in photos"

  • More "My scalp is always irritated now"

  • More women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s saying, "I don't even recognize my hair anymore"

They weren't just asking for a new cut. They were asking for reassurance, answers, and a plan.

That's what led me to formal training in trichology (the science of the hair and scalp), and later to become a Certified Menopause Coach so I could fully understand what was happening inside the body—not just on the surface.

Now, instead of trying to "camouflage" problems with color and product, I help women understand why things are changing and what we can realistically do about it.

Why You Can Trust Me With Your Hair (and Your Hormone Talk)

Board Certified Trichologist

I've completed advanced training in hair and scalp science, including assessment of hair loss patterns, scalp conditions, and contributing factors like nutrition, stress, and medications. This allows me to look beyond "just use this shampoo" and identify possible root causes that may need support.

Certified Menopause Coach

Menopause doesn't just live in hot flashes. It affects your sleep, mood, energy, and yes—your hair and scalp. My menopause coaching training helps me connect your hair changes with what's happening hormonally, emotionally, and physically, so we can create a realistic plan instead of "hope and a new conditioner."

Cosmetologist for 30+ Years

I've been behind the chair for decades and still adore a beautiful, wearable cut and gentle color. I understand how your hair needs to look day-to-day, not just how it behaves under clinic lights. My goal is always: healthy scalp, supported hair, and a style you can live in—not just for Instagram.

Ongoing Education & Collaboration

I regularly invest in continuing education in trichology, scalp therapies, menopause health, and low-tox product options so my clients aren't relying on outdated information or social media trends.

My Approach: Science, Support, and Zero Shame

Here's what you can expect when you work with me:

We start with listening, not rushing.

You're not just a "60-minute slot." Your consultation is where we dig into your story—health, hormones, stress, products, and everything your hair has been through.

I'll tell the truth—kindly.

I won't promise miracle overnight regrowth, and I won't scare you. You'll get honest, realistic expectations with a focus on what we can do to support your scalp, hair, and nervous system.

We focus on comfort and nervous system care.

Head spa rituals and scalp treatments aren't just about the follicles—they're also about giving your body a moment to shift out of fight-or-flight. You're allowed to exhale in my chair.

We make a plan you can actually follow.

Fancy routines don't matter if they collect dust. I'll help you choose targeted services and home care that work with your budget, time, and energy.

We adjust as life changes.

Menopause isn't a one-and-done event. Neither is stress or illness. We'll check in, track progress, and tweak your plan as your life (and hormones) keep evolving.

Around here, "It's just your age" is banned. "Let's look at what your scalp is actually saying" is much more our style.

Who I’m a Great Fit For

We're probably a great match if:

  • You're in perimenopause or post-menopause and noticing shedding, thinning, or texture changes

  • You want someone to explain what's happening, not just sell you another product

  • You're open to looking at the whole picture—stress, hormones, health history, and scalp health

  • You value a quieter, one-on-one environment instead of a busy, high-volume salon

  • You want a realistic plan, not a promise of "instant regrowth"

We may not be the best fit if:

  • You're looking for fast, trendy transformations every few weeks

  • You want aggressive lightening services or harsh chemical processes at any cost

  • You're hoping for a quick fix and aren't open to small lifestyle or routine changes

When I’m Not Talking About Hair…

When I'm not examining scalps or designing hair plans, you'll usually find me:

  • Reading something nerdy about hormones, hair science, or women's health

  • Enjoying quiet time with coffee and a good book

  • Spending time with family and soaking up the simple moments

  •

I bring the same energy to my life that I bring to my studio: curious, compassionate, a little nerdy, and always rooting for women to feel more at home in their own bodies.
